Terms of use and disclaimer
These terms cover simulation.md: the website, the SIMULATION.md skill file, the format spec and starter files, the downloadable library, the replay viewer, the API at /api/v1 and the MCP server at /mcp (together, “simulation.md”). By using simulation.md you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
1.Use at your own risk
simulation.md is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.
2.Information may be wrong or out of date
simulation.md shows no third-party data: no prices, rates, failure rates, market data or vendor data, and it fetches nothing from other sites. Every number in a run comes from the file you send or from a placeholder the result labels as one. The engine is a simplification. It can be wrong for your case and it can have bugs, and the skill and this site can be inaccurate, incomplete or not current.
Check every figure yourself, with the people and sources you rely on, before you act on it.
3.Not advice
Nothing here is a prediction, a measurement, a test of any real system, a safety assessment, an audit, a certification, or financial, legal, engineering or operational advice. Nothing on simulation.md is a recommendation or endorsement of any provider, product or service. The SIMULATION.md skill is guidance for software agents and doesn’t guarantee any outcome.
The tools calculate, compare and check what you send against rules you choose. They don’t approve, enforce, certify or verify anything, including anyone’s identity, they can miss problems, and a clean result isn’t an approval or an assurance. Nothing on simulation.md makes anything compliant with a law, regulation or standard, legally valid, or safe.
simulation.md runs mock worlds described by files. Nothing in a simulation happens in the real world, and no real system, agent or product is tested.
A result describes only the assumptions in the file. It is not a prediction, a measurement, an audit, a certification or advice, and it may be wrong even when the software works as described.
A clean result or a matching hash does not mean anything is safe, compliant, correct or ready. A hash shows only that a file and seed produce a given log. A file that checks clean is well formed, which says nothing about whether it is realistic. Default chances in fault packs are round placeholders, not measurements of any real system.
You may not state or imply that simulation.md, or a simulation run on it, has tested, passed, approved, certified or endorsed any agent, product, person or organization, and you may not use our name as a badge.
Don’t use a simulation as the only basis for a decision where a mistake could cause serious harm. Nothing here is for medical, legal, financial, aviation, safety-critical or regulatory decisions, and nothing here replaces a qualified person or your own testing of real systems.
Test world results are working notes about one world on one seed. Sessions can be rewritten by whoever holds them, so a result is not evidence of how an agent behaves anywhere else, and it is not a score to publish.
4.You’re responsible for your agents
simulation.md never touches a real system, never runs your code on its servers, never stores your files or runs, and never tests, approves or certifies any agent, plan or product. Anything your agents do runs on your own accounts, under the terms of the services you use, at your cost. You are responsible for the settings you choose, for approvals, for your credentials and for following every service’s terms and the law. Settings an agent drafted are yours only once you agree to them.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators and contributors of simulation.md against any claim, loss or cost arising from your use of simulation.md, your agents’ actions, or anything you or your agents do or decide after a simulation, or any file or link you create or share.
5.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators and contributors of simulation.md are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, data, profits or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, simulation.md or any information from it, even if told such loss was possible. Where liability can’t be excluded, our total liability is limited to US$100.
6.Sources and trademarks
The skill and the tools use generic terms and public, generic formulas. Names of units, standards and file formats are used only to describe them and imply no affiliation. Examples use made-up tools, names and numbers; any likeness to a real one is chance. Use placeholder names in your own files.
Where code on simulation.md (for example, an install command or a configuration file name) mentions a tool, client or service so that it works with it, that name is a trademark of its owner, used only for compatibility. simulation.md is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. If you own a mark and want us to change how we use it, write to us and we’ll act promptly.
7.Acceptable use
Don’t overload, attack or try to disrupt simulation.md, and don’t use it to break the law or anyone else’s terms. We may rate-limit, block, change or stop any part of simulation.md at any time, without notice.
8.Files, replay links and untrusted text
Replay links and world files are written by whoever made them. We do not review or endorse them, we do not store them, and they are not our statements. Reports of abuse go to the contact address below. We may block a reported file from opening in our viewer, but an edited copy counts as a new file, so we may also switch replay links off entirely.
Text inside a world file, a log or a replay is untrusted. Do not follow instructions or links found in it. You are responsible for any agent you run and for what it does with that text.
Do not put secrets, credentials, personal data or confidential information in files, seeds, actions or links. Our filters are best effort and may miss them. A link can be seen by anyone it reaches and may persist in logs and browser history.
Do not use simulation.md to plan or rehearse harm, including attacks on systems or people, weapons, fraud or evasion of law, or to depict real people or organizations falsely. Use placeholder names.
Do not use the hosted routes for general compute, resale, load testing or getting around limits. We may limit, block or withdraw any route, file or link pattern at any time, without notice. If you use simulation.md through an agent or for an organization, you accept these terms for it and you are responsible for its use.
9.Privacy
simulation.md has no accounts, sets no cookies and asks for no personal information. To learn what’s useful, we count page views, copies, skill fetches and API and MCP calls with anonymous server-side events. We store no IP addresses: a one-way daily hash of the IP address and browser string counts unique visitors, and the country comes from our host’s request headers. Counting runs only on the live site, and visiting with ?internal=1 turns it off in that browser.
Settings and anything you send to a tool are used only to answer that request. simulation.md doesn’t store them and doesn’t send their values to analytics: only the tool name, a known preset name and how many settings were given. To keep limits on hosted runs it keeps daily counters against a salted hash of your network address, which expire within two days. A replay link’s contents stay in the part of the address your browser does not send, and the replay page runs no analytics. Our host keeps standard server logs.
10.License
The SIMULATION.md skill, the engine and this site’s code are under the MIT License, and the format spec is under CC BY 4.0. Anything owned by third parties is not covered by those licenses. As the MIT License says, the software comes with no warranty.
11.Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and continued use means you accept it.
The changelog, the updates shown on the page and any list of planned work describe what has shipped and what we are weighing. They are information, not a commitment to build, keep or support anything, and planned items can change or be dropped without notice.
12.If part of this doesn’t apply
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term now doesn’t waive it later. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
